Iron Council and Kologarn DownPosted by HolyceltonJuly 7, 2009 at 11:04 am
Congratulations to Deathrealm, Flarion, Holycelton, Holyforge, Lizerton, Shangdo, Sunetra, Vespyr, Vtborticua, and Zosodourden on the guild first kills of both the Assembly of Iron and Kologarn in 10-man Ulduar! Great job!
Last week we missed our Tuesday and Saturday raids due to me being in Cleveland. However, this week we will be running 10-man Ulduar on all three raid nights and making even more progress toward killing Yogg-Sarron. We should have all these bosses down again on Thursday and starting on more progression content Thursday and into Monday! All raid times are 7:30pm server time. Also, there's a poll on the left and a forum thread about whether you think the guild should focus on 10-man or 25-man raids. Either way, I don't think we're going to be going back to Naxxramas on a regular basis. Make sure to stop by and give your input! See you at 7:30! Progressing to 10-man UlduarPosted by HolyceltonJune 29, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Starting this Tuesday (June 30), we will be raiding 10-man Ulduar full time at our regular raid times - Tuesday, Thursday, and Monday nights at 7:30pm. With Patch 3.2 coming out in the near future, its time to start getting serious about progression in Ulduar. Moving directly into 25-man Ulduar is still not realistic for us and won't be for the foreseeable future. However, we've done great in the past in 10-man Ulduar and running Ulduar all 3 raid nights will allow us to really see some nice progression as we prepare to face off against Arthas in Icecrown.
The move to 10-man raids is a slight shift in our guild's philosophy. We've grown to a good size and attracted a number of awesome players into the guild, and its time for us to focus on those players in order to allow us to progress through all of Wrath's content. Starting Tuesday, we will be focusing on becoming a smaller, more tight-knit guild focused on progression. We'll avoid bringing PuGs and non-guildies on our raids if at all possible. Our philosophy will no longer be centered so much around helping new people gear up and improve, instead we're going to focus more on progression for our regular raiders. This move means two things: First, we'll likely never run regular 25-man content again. We may still run 25-man content on off-nights with PuGs or other guilds, but not on our regular raid nights. Instead, we'll focus our raiding efforts on 10-man progression and 10-man hard modes until the next expansion and probably beyond. Becoming a progression-oriented 25-man raiding guild is not going to be realistic for us considering our casual nature. Secondly, moving out of Naxxramas is going to create some challenges. How do we gear/prepare alts and newer guildies for the challenges of Ulduar? How do we replace people who need to take breaks from WOW or leave the guild? The further we get in the content the more difficult these challenges become. We need to rely on the commitment of our core raiders to be able to continue to succeed in Ulduar and beyond. We need our core guildies to help out more to gear and train people in Naxxramas and heroics on off-raid nights. Being able to run both a 10-man Ulduar and a 10-man Naxx every week would be ideal. We likely won't be able to give an Ulduar invite to everyone who wants one. I encourage you to stay online and ready in case we need to bring you in if you are benched. You won't be able to get into Ulduar if you are offline. We'll try to cycle everyone that wants to into Ulduar each week. However, there's no question that receiving an invite to Ulduar will be more difficult than receiving one for Naxx. You'll need to be at the top of your game, online on time, with good dps and gear. I'm very excited about the prospect of progressing into Ulduar and beyond. While in the past I've said that we are primarily a "PuG guild", these changes have moved us well out of that territory. We are now a real, core, progression-oriented guild. I really enjoy all the time I spend with you guys and I look forward to killing Yogg-Sarron, fighting in the Argent Coliseum, and destroying the Lich King with all of you! Heroic Naxxramas Down!!Posted by HolyceltonJune 16, 2009 at 9:14 am
Congratulations to Baakke , Bellagio , Cerol , Demô , Fakkz , Flarion , Focondmilieu, Holycelton , Hoogar , Marcusi, Minstral , Onethingy , Sayern , Shangdo , Sunlight, Vinikake , Vtboricua, and Zosodourden on the guild first kill of Thaddius, Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad! Awesome job this week!
We did a great job in Heroic Naxxramas this week. By the end of Thursday night we had cleared up to Thaddius and did quite a few attempts on him, which in itself was some great progress. Then on Monday, instead of going to 10-man Ulduar, we finished up Naxx by clearing Thaddius, Saphhiron and Kel'Thuzad! Everyone did a great job! Thanks for sticking it out through all the wipes on all three nights and seeing it through! This week we're going to repeat last week only we're going to do it faster and better! Thaddius and KT in particular should go faster this week now that we have a good feel for them. Once we've cleared 25-man Naxxramas for a couple more weeks, we'll be ready to move on to 25-man Ulduar! Make sure to show up on Tuesday, Thursday, and Monday nights at 7:30pm to get in on the action! We now have the key to 25-man Malygos, so we should try to get some attempts in on that, possibly on Saturday or another off-night. Also, we'd like to give a try to 25-man Sartharion with 1 drake up this week. We should also be able to do 10-man Sartharion with 1 drake again. So make sure you're there on Saturday at 8:30pm server! Our new DKP system seems to be working great. People are getting the gear they want and everyone is getting some loot. Everyone's DKP has been cut in half this morning and you can see the new DKP values on our DKP page. If you have any comments, questions, or feedback about the loot system please post on our forums. See you on Tuesday! New Loot System FinalizedPosted by HolyceltonJune 10, 2009 at 12:54 pm
The new loot system we will be using has been finalized. It is a DKP system that persists over multiple weeks. You can read the details on our About Us page. Please direct any comments or suggestions about this loot system to the discussion thread on the topic. We will likely try out this system for at least a few weeks, but we're always open to more suggestions and improvements.
Heroic Naxxramas went really well last night. We were able to down Military and Spider wings as well as Noth, the first boss of the Plague wing. On Thursday we'll finish off the plague wing and then tackle the Construct wing. To encourage progression for our entire guild, we're going to focus on Heroic Naxxramas this week, and finish it off on Monday instead of going to 10-man Ulduar Monday. We may get our guild first clear of Heroic Naxxramas this week, so make sure you're logged on and ready to go! All raid times are 7:30pm server. Onethingy will also be leading a 10-man Naxxramas raid on Wednesday and Friday. Check out this thread if you're interested in attending. We'll be running Heroic OS on Saturday at 8:30pm server. Our guild continues to see tremendous growth. We have over 100 level 80 characters in the guild now. However, we still find ourselves needing to bring in PuGs for our 25-man raids. Make sure you're logged in before raid time so we can get you all geared out instead gearing up our PuGs. See you Thursday! New Loot Sytem Being DiscussedPosted by HolyceltonMay 24, 2009 at 1:49 am
Hey guys, we're discussing the possibility of implementing a new, more robust loot system for our raids. You can read all the details in the forum thread on the subject. Please stop by, give it a read, and put in your input. Once you've read through it, put in your vote on the poll to the left. Thanks!
XT-002 Deconstructor Down!Posted by HolyceltonMay 19, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Congratulations to Lizerton, Wallz, Felonyy, Snakerton, Shangdo, Hoogar, Vinikake, Holycelton, and Cerol on the guild first kill of XT-002 Deconstructor in Ulduar! We killed him on only our 2nd attempt. Razorscale also went down on our first attempt. Great job last night!
This week we're keeping with our normal raid schedule. We're raiding 25-man Naxx on Tuesday and Thursday night and 10-man Ulduar on Monday night, all at 7:30pm server time. We're raiding 25-man OS on Saturday night at 8:30pm server time. Make sure you're on! Let's see if we can clear all 4 wings of Naxx this week. See you then! Emalon the Stormwatcher Down!Posted by HolyceltonApril 28, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Congratuations to Anova, Lollipop, Lizerton, Holyforge, Holycelton, Snakerton, Shangdo, Vinikake, Gijóq, and Aorlyi on the guild first kill of Emalon the Stormwatcher! After stealing Emalon's loot, the gang moved on to the Eye of Eternity to also down Malygos. Overall, it was a very productive night, even though we got started late. Special congratulations to Aorlyi for a couple of new very nice upgrades.
Our first Naxxramas 25-man since Patch 3.1 is happening tonight! Make sure you're on and ready before 7:30pm server time if you want an invite. We will continue Naxxramas on Thursday. See you there! Our Future PlansPosted by HolyceltonApril 24, 2009 at 12:38 am
Hi everyone! We've finalized our raiding plans for the future. We will be running 25-man Naxxramas on Tuesdays and continuing on Thursdays at 7:30pm server time. We will be filling any empty spots with people from Saints Crusade, P A I N, and our other non-guild friends. Ibeholychic has agreed to help us lead them, so watch for his invite on Tuesday. He has a lot of experience in Naxx and we know he'll do a great job. Don't worry though, me and Lollipop and all your other friends will still be there too. =-D
Our elite 10-man group will be running Ulduar 10-man on Monday nights (7:30pm). Be sure to get the best gear you can and be on at 7:30pm each Monday if you want a chance to get into this group and see Ulduar for yourself. Eventually we hope to move on to 25-man Ulduar. Saturday nights we will continue to run Sartharion at 9:30pm server time. We will run 25-man Sartharion first, and then our core group will do 10-man Sartharion with drakes afterwards. We hope to attempt two drakes this week. Grats to everyone who downed Sarth 1D last week! Lastly, we have many people who've shown an interest in running 10-man Naxxramas on our off-nights (Wednesday and Friday). We won't formally schedule it on the calendar, but if you're interested in running 10-man, make sure to be on those nights. It's an exciting time in WoW right now, with something to do every night of the week! Make sure to be on at 7:30pm server time each night if you want in on the action. See you there! | ||
